All About Jordan Visas

Jordan offers tourists an enticing way to visit its spectacular historic sites with a unique travel authorisation called the Jordan Pass. Not only does the pass give you access to enter this nation of archaeological wonders, it also gives you free entry to 36 tourist attractions.

Another advantage of the Jordan Pass is that the fees you’d normally pay for a Visa on Arrival (VoA) are waived as long as you’re staying for a minimum of 3 nights in the country. Furthermore, you can say goodbye to waiting in long queues after your flight to get your VoA.

You may be asking, “Do I need a visa for Jordan?” Nearly all nationalities require some sort of visa to enter Jordan, but many are eligible for the Jordan Pass. As an example, if you’re from the US, UK, India, Australia or New Zealand, you’re eligible for the Jordan Pass.

The Jordan Pass is valid for up to 1 year from the date it’s issued. Once you arrive, you’re permitted a maximum stay of 30 days. This authorisation is valid for a Single Entry only.

You can apply for your travel document electronically with Byevisa from any computer, tablet or mobile device. Once it’s approved, we send your document directly to your email inbox. Here we’ve provided all the information you need to get on your way to Jordan.

Jordan Pass Versus Jordan Visa on Arrival

The Jordan Pass is obtained online before your trip, allowing you to skip the queues and the visa fees. The pass is an economical option that includes entry to 36 major tourist attractions. Byevisa makes it quick and easy to get your pass.

Once you land, the only thing you need to do is show your printed authorisation and your passport to immigration officials. This is the same pass you’ll use to enter any of the 36 included attractions.

In contrast, most nationalities apply for a Visa on Arrival upon landing in Jordan. This visa is obtained at the airport or border checkpoint by waiting in a potentially long queue, filling out some forms, showing your passport and paying the visa fee. So the Jordan Pass is a quicker, faster, stress-free method.

The Jordan Pass lets you enter 36 tourist attractions for free for up to 2 weeks after it’s scanned for the first time. The pass is also valid to visit Petra, but the visit must be completed over 3 consecutive days, so plan your visits accordingly.

This authorisation is for a Single Entry only. If you’re planning to visit, say, the Israel side of the Dead Sea and return, you need to apply for multiple passes.

The Jordan Pass has a validity of 1 year from the date of issue, and it allows you to stay for up to 30 days in the country.

When you arrive you’ll have to show your passport that’s valid for at least 6 months from the date you arrive.

You must also present a certificate of yellow fever vaccination when you arrive if you’re travelling from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. The list of countries requiring vaccination is available on the World Health Organisation’s website.

Finally, the following nationalities can enter visa-free for up to either 1 or 2 months:

  • Bahrain
  • Egypt (1 month)
  • Israel (1 month)
  • Kuwait
  • Lebanon

Jordan Visa Application Process

With Byevisa, our application process only takes a few minutes and no forms are required. All you need to do is fill in your personal and travel information and then pay the government’s fee plus our processing fee with a bank card or PayPal.

Once you’ve submitted your application, we’ll handle the processing of your paperwork. You can expect to receive your travel document in 1 to 3 business days depending on the service speed you choose.
