Do I Need A Visa If I’m In Transit Through the Country?
If you’re transiting through Auckland International Airport on your way to another destination, you can make an application for the Transit NZeTA document. This permits British travellers to stay either on board their aircraft or within the airport’s transit area without needing any other kind of paperwork. You will not be allowed to leave the airport with this type of document though. The Transit document is also valid for 2 years and can be used for multiple trips.

Do I Need a Visa for New Zealand From UK if I’m on a Cruise?
If your cruise is leaving from a New Zealand port, you need to make the application online before you join the cruise and show the evidence of the authorisation at check-in. If you’ll be arriving in the country by cruise ship, you’ll be deemed to be in possession of a visitor visa on arrival at your first port. This will expire 28 days after your ship arrives at that first port or on the date that the ship leaves, whichever comes first. On arrival, the immigration authorities will ensure you meet all the entry requirements and are of good character.
If you’ll be staying in the country after your cruise, you must apply for entry permission and a visa by completing the arrival card and giving it to one of the immigration officers at the port. To obtain the authorisation, you will need to show evidence that you have onward travel arrangements like a flight ticket out of the country.
