All About the Thailand eVisa

Planning a trip to the Land of Smiles? Lucky you! Thailand possesses a unique charm along with stunning natural landscapes and thousands of temples.

The most important part of planning a successful trip is making sure all of your travel documents are in order. Thanks to the online Thailand eVisa on Arrival program, first established in 2019, gaining entry to the country is faster and easier than ever.

Byevisa provides an eVisa for Thailand that lets you skip long lines at the airport, putting you on the fast track for receiving your physical eVisa on Arrival (VoA) stamp at the port of entry.

Learn all about this travel document, discover if you are from an eligible country, and apply with Byevisa’s simple online form. We will send your eVisa directly to your email inbox.

That way, you’ll be free to devote your time to learning the full name of the Thai capital, which translates to *take a deep breath* City of Angels, Great City of Immortals, Magnificent City of the Nine Gems, Seat of the King, City of Royal Palaces, Home of Gods Incarnate, Erected by Visvakarman at Indra’s Behest. (No wonder they call it Bangkok for short!)

Visa Requirements and Eligibility

Not everyone is able to apply for a visa online. The service is only available for citizens of eligible countries who meet the requirements.

Before you apply, check to make sure that you qualify for an eVisa below.

Visa Exempt Countries

Nationals of many countries do not need a visa to enter Thailand as a tourist for visits lasting less than 30 days.

These visa-exempt countries include the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines and most of Europe, among others. To check if this applies to you, consult our eligibility tool here.

It is recommended that travellers entering the country without a visa do so using a passport that is valid for at least 6 months after the date of entry. You may also be asked to show proof of a return or onward ticket.

Thailand Visa Application Process

After an extended flight, the last thing you want to do is stand in a long and winding line at the airport to fill out paperwork. After all, the Temple of the Dawn isn’t going to visit itself!

To get out and exploring faster (or make a beeline to the spectacular beaches), you can apply to get your eVisa ahead of time with Byevisa.
