Chad Travel Visa
A visa is required. We cannot assist in processing this document, but we provide instructions on how to apply.
All About the Visa for Chad
Are you drawn to Chad’s magnificent desert landscapes and thrilling wildlife? On this page, we tell you everything you need to know about the entry policies to this African country, so you can start turning your dream into reality.
First of all, there are 15 countries who can travel to Chad visa-free for tourism. These countries are mostly neighbouring African countries such as Cameroon, Nigeria, and Rwanda. Moreover, Benin is the only country that is eligible to obtain a Visa on Arrival.
Meanwhile, most countries worldwide must get a standard embassy visa to gain entry into Chad; this includes the United States, Canada and all of Europe. The Chad embassies and consulates can issue tourists with either a Single Entry or Multiple Entry document valid between 1 and 6 months.
Although Chad does not currently offer an eVisa, in 2019 they announced plans to introduce a new electronic system, so watch this space!

What Is the Difference Between a Chad Visa Waiver vs a Visa for Chad?
The nationalities who can visit Chad without needing to get any kind of travel document can stay for up to 90 days in the country. Nationalities that fall under this category can enter with just their passport (in some cases, other forms of ID are also accepted).
It’s important to remember that this exemption is only valid for those travelling for tourism or to visit friends and family, so if you are travelling to study or work in Chad, you must obtain the relevant permits.
On the other hand, those who aren’t exempt will need to get a visa from an embassy or consulate. The visa can be Single Entry or Multiple Entry, and it can be valid between 30 days and 6 months, depending on your travel plans.
The document will be stamped into your passport, and you will need to show it to the border officials when you arrive in the country to gain entry. Read on to find out how to get this document.
