If you’re an Indian citizen who is keen to take a vacation to Vietnam, you need to know what the requirements are when it comes to getting an eVisa for Indians. Maybe you’re looking forward to seeing the sights of Ho Chi Minh City, or maybe you’re excited about visiting Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and its spectacular caves?
When you’re planning to arrive as an Indian citizen in this Southeast Asian country, you require the right visa. At the moment, the Vietnamese government is offering two types of travel authorisation for Indians:
- The Visa on Arrival and visa approval letter system. This is quite cumbersome and inconvenient, requiring the applicant to apply for a letter which must then be presented to immigration on arrival so the appropriate travel document can be issued.
- The eVisa. This system has been in place since 2017 and is an easier and quicker way to obtain Single Entry to the country for up to 30 days. It isn’t suitable for multiple entries or for longer periods of time, but if you’re going on a regular vacation it could be the ideal choice for you. All you do is make an online application and you soon receive a valid authorisation by email without any fuss.
