UK citizens can stay for up to 6 months visa-free. Meanwhile, over 100 other countries can visit Grenada for up to 3 months without a visa, including the USA, Canada, Australia and India. Also, in 2015, Grenada signed a visa-waiver agreement with the European Union, so countries such as France, Spain and Germany can also visit visa-exempt for 3 months.

Other nationalities, including Belarus and Uzbekistan, are eligible for a Visa on Arrival (VoA) that can be obtained directly at the port of entry into Grenada. Meanwhile, 6 neighbouring Caribbean islands, including St Lucia and Antigua and Barbuda, enjoy freedom of movement to visit, work or study on the island.

The remaining countries, including Turkey, Qatar and Zimbabwe, will need to get a standard embassy visa prior to travelling to this beautiful island.

In addition, tourists visiting on a cruise ship may enter the country for up to 24 hours without a travel permit, regardless of your nationality.

What Is the Difference Between a Grenada Visa Waiver, a VoA and a Standard Tourist Visa?

First of all, nationalities that fall under the visa-waiver program can visit Grenada without needing a tourist permit. The length of stay granted varies depending on your nationality, but in most cases it’s 90 days.

On the other hand, for those eligible for a VoA, you can acquire this entry permit when you arrive at the island by submitting a form and paying the corresponding fee. However, you must first obtain a Pre-Clearance Letter before your arrival from a diplomatic mission of Grenada. The VoA will allow you to stay in Grenada for up to 60 days.

Finally, those nationalities that require a standard visa must obtain it before travelling to the island from one of the country’s diplomatic missions. With this permit, visitors can stay for up to 90 days. What’s more, you can choose between a Single-Entry or a Multiple-Entry document, depending on what best suits your plans.

Pre-Clearance Letter to Obtain a VoA

  • A completed and signed application form.
  • A passport with at least 6 months validity left on it and 2 blank pages.
  • A colour copy of your passport data page.

Standard Visa

The documents required for an embassy permit are similar to those needed for a VoA with a couple of additions. Here is the full list:
