On occasion, if it is not possible for you to obtain a visa in your country of residence, you may be able to get a Visa on Arrival. Be sure to contact your nearest embassy before travelling, to be sure this is an option for you.

Guyana Visa Application Process

The application process to obtain your Guyana travel document is fairly straightforward as long as you follow each step carefully. Generally, the applications must be submitted in person, although some embassies may allow you to submit a postal application. It is essential you check with your nearest embassy before sending any documents in the post.

1. Find your nearest Guyana embassy and make an appointment.
2. Download, fill out and sign the application form.
3. Collect all the required supporting documents (see section below ‘Application Form and Documents’).
4. Attend your appointment at the embassy with all the documents and your original passport.
5. Receive your tourist visa stamped into your passport.
6. Fly off to one of South America’s most adventurous countries.

If you are not able to obtain a visa prior to your arrival, you may be able to get a VoA as long as you have a letter of invitation from a sponsor or host in Guyana. However, it is essential you check with a Guyana embassy beforehand whether this is an option for your specific case and nationality.

Guyana Visa Application Form and Documents

Once you have booked your appointment with the embassy, you can put together all the documents you will need for a successful application. It’s important to fill out the application form carefully and ensure you have all the necessary documents ready for your appointment. • A passport with at least 6 months validity on it from your arrival date and 2 blank pages (for your travel permit and the entry and exit stamps).
• A duly completed and signed application form.
• 2 recent passport-size photographs with a plain background.
• Return flight tickets.

VoA

In the case of the VoA for citizens of Bolivia and the United Arab Emirates, you must also provide a series of documents at the port of entry into Guyana. These documents are:

• A passport with at least 6 months validity on it from your arrival date and 2 blank pages.
• A duly completed and signed application form.
• 2 passport-style photographs.
• A letter of invitation from your sponsor or host.
• Name, address and contact details of where you will be staying.
• Proof you have funds to cover a stay of 30 days in the country.

The application form is a 4-page document to be completed with your personal details and basic information about your trip.

Guyana Visa Status Check

Once you have submitted your application at the embassy or consulate, you will need to wait around 3 weeks before it will be ready for collection. In most cases, the embassy will notify you when the document is ready, but it’s always a good idea to confirm the process when you apply, as some diplomatic missions may operate slightly differently.

If the designated processing period has passed, and you haven’t received any news, you may wish to contact the embassy or consulate to get an update on the process of your application. To avoid any delays affecting your trip, try to apply for your document at least 1 month before your intended departure date.

How Much Does a Guyana Visa Cost?

The visa fees for a travel document to Guyana are very straightforward, as there is just 1 fee for a standard Single-Entry permit for 30 days that is 25 USD.

If you wish to extend your stay, every extra month on top of the initial 30 days granted will cost an additional 25 USD.

In addition to the embassy fees shown above, you may need to pay additional processing fees in the event you use an agency or third party to facilitate the submission of your application.

For those eligible for a VoA, the fee is the same as a standard permit, so you can expect to pay 25 USD at the border checkpoint when you arrive in the country.
