All About the Nigeria Visa

Travelling to Nigeria? This nation located in the southeast of West Africa is known for its natural landmarks and wildlife reserves.

If you’re planning to visit soon, you should know that the majority of nationalities require a visa to enter Nigeria. This includes Brits, Canadians, Americans and citizens of many other countries.

To enter this destination, you must hold a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. Certain vaccinations are also required, which we’ll go into more detail about below.

The good news is that if you are travelling for tourism, business, or transit purposes, you can apply for a Nigeria eVisa with Byevisa. To do this, you just need to enter some personal and passport details and upload some supporting documents.

Once you have filled in your Nigeria travel visa application, you will receive your travel authorisation to your email inbox. On arrival in the country, you then need to head to the counter with your printed eVisa approval letter to obtain your Visa on Arrival as the final part of the process.

You can use this travel pass to visit as a tourist or to travel to cities like Lagos to carry out commercial activities. You cannot, however, use it to work or to live here.

Read on to find out more about the ins and outs of obtaining the Nigeria visa!

  2. Pay and enter your debit/credit card or PayPal details. You pay the government fee of x USD as well as Byevisa’s processing fee to manage your application on your behalf. The fee you pay varies depending on how quickly you need your electronic authorisation. Choose from our Standard, Rapid or Highly Rapid services.
  3. Keep an eye on your email inbox, where your travel authorisation will be sent in 2 to 6 business days (depending on which Byevisa service you’ve selected). In the meantime, you can sit back and plan where you want to visit while you’re there!
  4. When you arrive in Nigeria, you will present a printed copy of the approval letter that we’ve emailed to you and your passport to immigration officials. You must also show your departure ticket as proof that you plan to leave the country at the end of your trip. Officials will then issue you with your physical Visa on Arrival.
