All About the Colombia eVisa

The Electronic Visa for Colombia, also known as the eVisa is the official permit that authorises travellers to visit this megadiverse country. This type of travel pass can be used for trips for leisure or tourism, depending on the length of your stay.

Citizens of many countries can take advantage of the Byevisa platform to complete their application from the comfort of their home or indeed anywhere with an internet connection. The tourist visa for Colombia will then be sent to the email address that you included in your application.

A Colombia visitor visa grants entry for temporary stays and is valid for either a single entry or multiple entries, depending on your travel plans.

In this article, you will find detailed information about the Colombia tourist visa and how to apply for it with Byevisa broken down into easy steps. You can also find out the cost of this travel pass and details about the requirements to obtain it online.

What Is the Difference Between a Colombia Electronic Visa and a Traditional Pass?

Nowadays, many countries offer several different types of travel passes. While traditional consular visas can be obtained at embassies, some nations may offer e-Visas (also known as electronic travel authorisation), a Visa on Arrival, or a combination of these options.

For example, citizens of many countries can obtain a Colombia e-Visa online, saving you the time and energy of visiting an embassy or consulate beforehand.

While not everyone is eligible for all types of travel authorisation, some travellers can choose which type of pass to apply for. Some countries even allow visitors of certain nationalities to enter without any type of visa at all.

With the rise of digital technology, many other countries have introduced electronic visas and other types of digital travel passes, and this trend is expected to continue.

Colombia Visa Application Process

In order to submit an online application, you must first meet the entry requirements. Colombia’s eVisa requirements state that the applicant must have:

  • A passport valid for at least 3 months at the time of application, with free pages for your entry/exit stamps.
  • A digital image of the page of your passport containing your personal details.
  • A recent passport-style photograph of the applicant.
  • A valid credit/debit card to pay the eVisa Colombia fee.
  • A valid email address to send the approved documentation to.

You may also need to upload additional supporting documents to meet the Colombia business visa requirements or to apply for travel documentation to participate in events.

A verification code will be sent to us after payment. You will need to have this to hand in order to check the status of your eVisa.

Applicants should also note that you must always travel to the country with the same passport that you used to complete your application. This travel document must be presented along with the approved e-Visa to enter Colombia’s border entry checkpoints, whether at a port, airport, railway station, or road border crossing.
