The majority of nationalities will need to obtain a visa from their nearest embassy or consulate to be allowed entry, including India. These tourist visas can be issued as Single Entry or Multiple Entry permits, and the length of their validity can vary depending on your nationality. Some nationalities may also enter if they have a valid Schengen, US or Canadian visa.

However, there are 84 nationalities worldwide that can visit this lush Central American country without a visa, such as the USA, UK and most of Europe. The number of days granted does vary depending on your nationality, but the maximum number of days allowed is 90. What Is the Difference Between a Honduras Visa Waiver vs Tourist Visa?

If you are travelling to this Central American country for tourism, you will fall into 1 of 2 categories: those who require an embassy visa and those who do not.

If you are from one of the lucky visa-free countries, all you will need is a passport valid for at least 6 months and proof of onward travel, such as return flight tickets or a bus ticket out of the country.

Meanwhile, if you are from one of the countries that do require a visa to enter, you will need to make the appropriate arrangements before you travel to obtain this essential document.

Honduras Visa Application Process

When it comes to applying for a paper visa, you will need to deliver the original copy of your passport to the relevant organisation, so they can issue you with a travel permit. This is because the permit is stamped directly into your passport. Follow these steps carefully, and you will be off to the Bay Islands in no time at all!

Honduras Visa Application Form and Documents

Firstly, anyone wishing to visit Honduras must have a passport that is valid for 3 months, but for some nationalities, it must be valid for at least 6 months. If you are unsure whether your passport meets the requirements, it’s best to check this with the embassy.

Next, you will need to gather the following documents to bring to your embassy appointment:

  • 2 passport-size photographs with a blank background.
  • A photocopy of your passport data page.

How Much Does a Honduras Visa Cost?

The fees for a tourist permit for Honduras are pretty straightforward. There are just 2 types of documents and each comes with a fixed rate no matter which country you are applying from.

  • Single Entry visa: 30 USD
  • Multiple Entry visa: 60 USD

You will need to pay this amount at the embassy or consulate at the time you submit your application. Please note that these fees are not refundable regardless of whether your travel permit is issued or not.
