What Is the Difference Between a Rwanda e-Visa vs a Visa on Arrival (VoA)?
An eVisa is an official travel pass you apply for online before you go. The document is conveniently sent to your email inbox, and you print it out and take it with you when you travel.
Getting an Electronic Visa has several advantages. You don’t have to wait in a long line at the airport after you have already spent many hours travelling. You don’t have to worry about whether or not your payment will go through seamlessly when you arrive. Also, you can stay in Rwanda for as long as 90 days with an eVisa.
By comparison, as the name suggests, a Visa on Arrival (VoA) is issued to you when you get to Rwanda. To get one, you have to wait and stand in line to fill out paperwork and make your payment when you arrive in the country, when you’d probably rather be getting out and starting to explore. The Rwanda VoA is only valid for visits lasting up to 30 days.
An electronic East Africa Tourist visa is also available online, which allows 90-day travel to Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda. Find out more here.
Applying for your eVisa ahead of time with Byevisa allows you to rest easy knowing that you are fully prepared for your trip. Once you arrive, you can whiz through Immigration and Customs and start exploring the Land of a Thousand Hills.
Rwanda Visa Requirements and Eligibility
The visa requirements are very straightforward:
- All nationalities are eligible.
