The Brazilian government brought in eVisas for citizens of several countries including the USA, the UK, Canada and Japan in 2018. However, Indian citizens were not included in this change.
There has been an announcement that Indians will soon be able to travel to Brazil without needing any type of travel authorisation other than a valid passport but, as yet, this has not been introduced. At the present time, Indians must therefore still go through the usual procedures to apply for a Brazilian visa as normal.

Although the Brazilian authorities have said that soon Indian citizens will be able to travel to their country without any need to apply for a travel authorisation in advance, this has not yet been introduced. The requirements for applying for a Brazilian visa include:
- A passport with 6 months validity remaining on the date of entry into the country.
- 2 blank pages in the passport to receive the stamp.
- A recent passport photograph.
- Proof of your income.
- A covering letter outlining the details of your trip including your itinerary.
- Evidence of your hotel and return travel.
- Yellow fever vaccination certificate.

You need to pay a fee in advance when applying for your Brazilian visa. This fee currently stands at 6400 Rupees.
Is There a Brazilian Visa on Arrival for Indian Tourists?

Do Indians Need a Visa for Brazil if They are in Transit?
Some Indian citizens will be travelling through Brazil on their way to their final destination. If you are arriving at a Brazilian airport and have a short layover before taking another flight onwards, you do not need any travel authorisation for your trip.
