Jordan Visa for Pakistanis

If you’re a Pakistani citizen hoping to visit Jordan and explore the Bedouins heritage at Wadi Rum or discover ancient treasures at Petra, you’ll want to read up on the country’s visa requirements before your trip.

Pakistani visitors need to obtain a tourist visa from an embassy prior to travel. This will enable you to remain in the country for tourist purposes and for short stays only.

However, you will be able to skip this process and obtain the Visa on Arrival (VoA) instead, if you have a residence card from the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), UK, US, EU, Australia, Canada, Japan or South Korea.

With many UNESCO World Heritage Sites to discover and famous desert landscapes to see, this fascinating country rewards its visitors with many enriching experiences! Read on to find out what you need to know about the Jordan visa for citizens of Pakistan.

Do Pakistani Citizens Need a Visa for Jordan?

If you’re asking yourself “Do Pakistani citizens need a visa for Jordan?”, then the answer is yes. Visitors from Pakistan need to obtain an embassy visa from a diplomatic government office of Jordan in advance of travel.

Your Jordan tourist visa will enable you to remain in the country for short stays. The amount of time you’ll be granted varies, but it should cover the length of your trip (if it is for tourist purposes). If your trip is not for tourist purposes, you will need to apply for a different visa via the embassy.

To apply for your document from an embassy, you’ll need to provide the following 8 supporting documents:

  • A completed visa application form.
  • A passport photo that’s less than 6 months old.
  • A valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining on the date of travel and 2 blank pages.
  • A clear scan copy of your valid passport.
  • Accommodation reservation/s for your time in the country.
  • Your travel bookings, including return or onward flight information.
  • A recent monthly bank statement.
  • Your itinerary and any bookings made for your time in Jordan.

However, different rules apply if you hold a residence card from the GCC, UK, US, EU, Australia, Canada, Japan or South Korea, as we explain below.

Can Pakistani Travellers get a VoA for Jordan?

If you hold a residence card from the GCC, UK, US, EU, Australia, Canada, Japan or South Korea, then you are eligible for the VoA (Visa on Arrival) for Jordan, which enables you to obtain your travel pass upon arrival. Your VoA will enable you to stay in the country for a maximum of 2 months, depending on which country you are from, and is valid for a Single Entry.

A VoA lets you obtain your travel authorisation upon landing in the country, so you don’t need to arrange a pass prior to taking your trip. In many ways it’s easier, as you can avoid pre-trip paperwork.

After arrival, you will need to wait in an immigration queue and will be provided with a VoA application by border authorities. Then it’s just a case of completing the form by writing your personal details, passport information and travel details.

Alternatively, if you’re eligible for a VoA, you’re also eligible for what’s called the Jordan Pass. This is an online travel document that gives you access to 36 of the country’s top tourists sites, like Petra.

Jordan Visa Requirements for Pakistani Tourists

To enter the country, you must obtain a visa from an embassy, or a VoA if you’re eligible, and be able to present a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining on the date of travel.

To enter the country, your passport must meet the following requirements:

  • It must be a valid Pakistan citizen passport with at least 6 months remaining on the date you travel.
  • It must contain 2 blank pages for visa stamps.

Is There a Jordan Visa Fee for Pakistanis?

Whether you’re eligible for a VoA or applying for a tourist visa from an embassy in advance, you will need to pay a fee.

For the VoA, when you are presenting your documents to immigration officials, you will need to pay a compulsory VoA fee before the application can be processed and approved.

For the embassy visa, you will need to pay consular officials a mandatory embassy visa fee before your application can be processed and approved.
