Let Us Answer Your Questions
Now that you understand the process for British tourists when it comes to getting your application organised, you may have other questions that you need to be answered. We have selected some of the most common questions and shared the answers below to save you time when trying to find out what you need to do.
How Long Will My Application Take to Be Processed?
All applications are different, and there are some instances where your application may be delayed if there are queries that need to be addressed before it can be issued. You may also need to attend an interview, but this will be communicated to you clearly if you do.
However, if there are no issues with your application, then you can expect it to be processed within 7 working days.
Can I Send My Application via the Postal System?
Yes, if you are unable to make an appointment or travel to London, then you can apply via the post. You need to collect all the required documents, payment and completed application form and send them with a self-addressed envelope to the Bangladesh High Commission which is located in London.
If you are applying from Northern Ireland, you also need to provide an additional postal order to the value of 10 GBP to cover postal charges.
Applications by post do take longer and the standard processing time, if there are no issues or queries, is around 10 working days to complete.
Can I Use My Credit Card as a Payment Method in This Country?
Yes, you can, but you may be at risk of becoming a victim of fraud, and so you are better off using the local currency (taka) to pay for items. The best way to finance your trip is to use Traveller’s Cheques that can easily be exchanged in banks or when you arrive at the airport. There are also a limited number of ATMs available for use if you wish to withdraw cash rather than exchanging a cheque.
