Do I Need A Visa for Jordan From UK?

The current immigration requirement is that if you are a British tourist travelling to this country, then you have to get a Jordan visa for UK citizens before you are permitted to enter the country.

To this end, you can apply for a Jordan Pass with Byevisa that gives you unlimited access to 36 tourist hotspots as well as offering a Visa on Arrival (VoA) fee waiver for anyone who purchases it, so long as you spend at least 3 nights in the country. This visa is valid for 12 months from the date of issue and gives you a Single Entry to the country. Your visit can last up to 1 month.

Do I Require A Transit Visa for Jordan as a UK National?

You are not required to apply for a transit visa when stopping in the country as long as you have your onward travel ticket and will not be in the country for more than 48 hours. Should you need to stay longer than 48 hours, then you will have to apply for a VoA to cover your time in the country.

Is It True That I Need An HIV Test To Stay In This Country?

If your trip is longer than 30 days, you will need to have an HIV test completed, and this will cost you 20 Jordanian dinars. However, the majority of UK tourists do not stay for longer than 30 days meaning that if you are not visiting that long, then you will not need to have this test completed.

Can I Extend My Time In This Country?

If you want to stay longer than your initial authorisation allows you to, then you can apply for an extension. You need to apply online to the immigration department and share your personal and travel details in order for it to be processed. You will also need to pay the fee to be issued with a new authorisation – this is the same as the initial fee for the VoA,  60 USD.

Can I Get A Multiple-Entry Visa To This Country?

If you want to enter the country multiple times on your trip, then you will need to apply directly to the embassy for your travel authorisation. This will give you a Multiple-Entry visa that you can use as you like.

However, you will need to be aware that there is an exit charge for any person leaving the country at border crossings (not at airports). This fee is 10 Jordanian dinars.
