About the Kuwait Visas for Indian Passport Holders
All Indian passport holders are required to obtain a visa before travelling here. There are 2 ways you can do this:
- The eVisa, only available to Indian nationals residing in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
- By scheduling an appointment at the Kuwait embassy in India.
The following types of visa are most likely to be applicable to your trip if you wish to visit Kuwait for a short stay:
- Tourist visa: Entitles Indian passport holders to visit for tourism, sightseeing or leisure purposes to stay for no more than 3 months.
- Visit visa: Granted to those intending to visit the country with a specific purpose and is valid for 1 month.
Kuwait eVisa Requirements for Citizens of India
The eVisa is available to Indian nationals who are residing in select neighbouring Gulf countries. Implemented in 2016, it is open to those wishing to visit the country for short-term visits.
Indian nationals are only eligible to obtain the electronic travel pass if they reside in one of the neighbouring GCC states. The GCC countries include:
- Bahrain
- Oman
- Qatar
- Saudi Arabia
- United Arab Emirates
If you are an Indian national residing in one of the countries above, and you meet the conditions below, you can go ahead and apply. In order to request one, you must meet the following conditions:
- Hold a GCC Residency Card.
- Hold an Indian passport that’s valid for at least 6 months from your intended arrival date.
- Upload a scanned copy of your passport’s personal details bio page.
- Provide a current email address for registration and communication.
- Provide a valid credit or debit card.
Indian nationals applying from any of the neighbouring GCC countries should ensure they possess a valid GCC residency permit (otherwise known as the Residency Card), which enables foreign citizens to stay long-term in one of the GCC countries.

Kuwait Visa Process for Indians Without GGC Residency
If you are an Indian national residing in India or any other country outside of the GCC, then unfortunately you are not eligible to apply for the eVisa.

What Is the Kuwait Visit Visa Processing Time and Cost for Indians?
