Zambia Visa on Arrival for US Citizens Requirements
A Visa on Arrival can be obtained by United States citizens when landing at a Zambian airport, such as Kenneth Kaunda International, or at a land border.
Travellers must meet the following requirements:
- Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months and you should have at least 3 blank pages per entry left in your passport.
- As well as a valid passport, you will also need to present a return ticket showing when you intend to depart.
- If you are a US citizen entering Zambia from a yellow fever endemic country, then you will need to show a yellow fever vaccination certificate.
There is also a charge to process your Visa on Arrival. At Kenneth Kaunda you can make the payment via debit or credit card; however, at other points of entry, it must be paid in cash in US dollars.
Prefer to organise your paperwork in advance of your departure? You can arrange this easily with Byevisa.
We detail the criteria and application process for this below.

- Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport – Livingstone.
- Kenneth Kaunda International Airport – Lusaka.
