What Is ArriveCAN Online?
ArriveCAN is a digital system introduced by the Canadian government as a safety measure to control the spread of COVID-19.
It includes a travel health form that must be completed before your trip. It’s a quick and simple process, and a necessary requirement if you’re hoping to start your adventure in Canada.
As part of your online application, you must provide a pre-entry COVID-19 test result. If you’re fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you can upload proof of this on our ArriveCAN web form to avoid quarantine and a test on day 8.
If you have not been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you will need to provide your quarantine plan in order to gain entry. You’ll be required to complete mandatory quarantine, so you’ll also need to log in to ArriveCAN after arriving to confirm you have arrived at the place previously specified.
Unvaccinated arrivals must also complete self-assessments using ArriveCAN each day until the end of their quarantine. This is a quick survey that asks you to input whether you’re experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
ArriveCAN Application Process
To apply for this document, simply provide your personal information including contact and travel details, as well as mention if you have symptoms of COVID-19. Travellers must detail their quarantine arrangements too, if applicable.
After you fill in the application form on our website, we’ll send the Canada ArriveCAN to you via email before you travel to this country. Please remember to provide valid information about your health status and your travel plans.
The receipt must be shown to a border services officer upon arrival in Canada. Travellers can present their receipt in the following formats:
- Screenshot
- Email copy
- Paper copy
- Via the ArriveCAN app
ArriveCAN Requirements
The travel health certificate for Canada is completed online. You must enter and submit the relevant details before your trip. It’s a quick and straightforward process, taking just a few minutes. You can access the form and complete it through Byevisa.
If you’re ready to complete your health declaration, you must have the following:
- Your COVID-19 test (either a negative test from the last 72 hours or a positive test from 14-90 days before travel).
- A place to quarantine for 14 days after the hotel (unvaccinated passengers only).
- Your vaccination certificate (fully vaccinated passengers only).
The form must be completed no more than 72 hours before you arrive in Canada.
When you’re ready to fill in the form, you will need to provide the following information:
- Your arrival date
- Your travel booking or flight details
- Your reason for visiting
- Your personal contact information
- COVID-19 test details (if applicable)
- Details of your recent travel history
- Your quarantine plan (unvaccinated passengers only)
If you’re unvaccinated and therefore required to provide details of your quarantine plan, you will need to provide the following details:
- The address of the location where you will complete your 14-day quarantine.
- State whether it is possible to avoid contact with other people while staying there.
- State whether you will have access to basic amenities without leaving quarantine.
- State whether there will be other people staying at the quarantine location.
Also, if you’re unvaccinated, after arriving in Canada, you must use ArriveCAN to submit daily COVID-19 symptom self-assessments.
It’s important to mention that, if you’re a vaccinated passenger, you may be randomly chosen to take a test on arrival to Canada. You will receive your results and any related correspondence via email from ArriveCAN online.
How Much Does the ArriveCAN Vaccine Passport Cost?
The Canadian government charges no fee for the health form. To use Byevisa’s service, and thereby avoid the time and stress of obtaining the form yourself, we charge the following based on how quickly you want to receive your form in your email inbox:
- Standard processing speed (24 hours) for 24 USD
- Rapid processing speed (8 hours) for 42 USD
- Highly Rapid processing speed (4 hours) for 72 USD
Getting Your ArriveCAN Receipt
Once you submit your information through ArriveCAN, a receipt will be displayed and emailed to you. Your receipt shows that you’ve successfully provided your information. It doesn’t validate your eligibility to enter Canada, vaccination status or essential travel status.
Show the receipt via your phone or a printout to your airline carrier or a Canadian border services officer when asked. They will check the details and, all being well, confirm your entry to the country.
What if I Don’t Submit My Details Through ArriveCAN Online?
If you’re an international traveller and you don’t submit your information through ArriveCAN, you may be denied boarding. This applies whether you’re arriving by air or crossing at a land, rail or marine border crossing.
If you are a Canadian citizen or resident, you will not be denied entry. However, you may face lengthy delays at the border due to public health questioning or face a fine and/or enforcement action.
